Notes left by campers, 2009
I used to scan the notes left by campers and then put them on this site but they were taking a long time to download so I have started to type them up.
Every one of these notes are genuine, and unedited. Some comments are e-mails sent to me after people have stayed.
Any replies or comment I make are in black capital letters.
I keep a book of the notes as they mean a lot to me so if you want to check my claim you can do so.

We didn't use the guest hut much but we think its a good idea.
I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of your toilets ( perhaps
some brushes would help your guests to keep them clean).
We have taken a bunch of your cards and intend to hand them out to all our
friends.

We really liked the campsite. It certainly has excellent facilities and is
thoughtfully organized.
Sorry we cut + ran early. We're not too bothered about bad weather but
the tent had become absolutely saturated - unlivable in.
Anyway - we'd certainly consider coming back - weather permitting.

Many thanks had a lovely weekend. Can we have a note in the toilets asking
men to lower and clean the seats when they have finished with them.
Or another solution could be designated men's and women's toilets.
Apart from that will see you again.
Suggestion;
A toaster next to the microwave would be great. Just like a water tap near
spot 9.

The friendly welcome from the host was such a contrast to other sites we've
stayed in around the area. It makes the difference.

at your campsite. Facilities are superb - organised + cater for all - except
kids,
which we try to avoid unless the grandsons are with us!

Lovely place. Very accommodating & friendly. I loved the little tour you
gave Ian. Nice touch.
We thought if you supplied a couple of little tin BBQ stands for general
use, that would make it perfect.

to Wales and your campsite which has been one of the best or should we say

Have just returned home from my few days camping with you.
I was really in need of some peace and relaxation and got just that in bucket-fulls
at Silver Birches, and some lovely weather to boot.
Sorry I didn't get chance to speak to you before I left but many thanks for
all your help and advice, I really enjoyed my walks (and by the way Ian,
I did get my walking pole back!)

Thank you for a lovely stay. We really enjoyed the use of all your facilities
especially the honesty system it is a refreshing way to enjoy a very pleasant
stay.
Improvement may be a wireless internet connection ... but that may take away
from the serenity we found here.
Also if possible put a lake right outside to go fishing on

We've loved our stay here at Silver Birches this is one of the friendliest
and best kept campsites we have ever been to - and what a view! Your next venture
should be a book of circular walks - we did the 5.5 km on our first afternoon
and the walk from Beddgelert around the copper mine, lake and gorge yesterday
- an absolutely fantastic walk thank you - we'll be back.

I thought i should email you to thank you both for a brillent week on
your campsite, we would have said in person but had to leave quite early
this morning due to our long ride home. I will post a review on the

Don't change a thing this is the friendliest, cleanest campsite I've been
to. One suggestion is to have a fire pit to make it even more camp like
and don't visit Tweedmill - useless and waste of a journey. Thanks for

I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT A POTENTIAL FLIE PROBLEM AND WROTE
TO CLARIFY WHETHER IT HAD BEEN MIDGES OR FLIES AND THIS IS THE REPLY I RECIEVED.
Hi Just a quick note to let you know we were in
no way dissapointed with the campsite it is excellent, as are the facilities.
The midgies were a problem as the bite marks on us all prove,however we in no
way blame your site for this its just one of those things this time of year and
it wont stop us returning in the coming months.
There were many reasons for us only staying 1 night mainly as we had left our
18yr old at home as i told Ian on Friday evening, the midgies did detract from
our enjoyment but thats life.

Hi Marion and Ian,
Just would like to say a big thank you for a wonderful weekend camping at
your site. The amenities were spotless, the site is in a spectacular location!
the walks provided were very useful (I enjoyed your photo guides) You both
appreciated what campers like myself and Kevin want when we go camping,
I cant believe we had not visited before!!
Enjoyed the photos on the web site of the Easter Weekend, met some really
nice people at the site.
I spoke briefly to Ian about the Snowdonia Retreat, and wondered about availability
for Sat 30th - Sun 31st May, if so, could we book it now? as I am sure you
are very busy around that time.

Fantastic Site! Beautiful location. Very clean. Thanks for all your help with

Only negative is that we couldn't stay longer! Have
