We have put on a few hikes that have been tried and tested by Ian.
Please remember these are hikes not gentle walks and should not be attempted unless;
* you are wearing suitable walking clothes
* have enough food and water for the length of the walk and
* have checked the weather forecast to ensure the conditions are suitable for hiking.

If you want more details of these walks just ask Ian when you are at the camp site,he can show you the route on and map and talk you through it.

Snowdon (Rhyd Ddu Path)

12 km 900 m Starts at Rhyd Ddu, which is approx 3 miles from the campsite A good walking path, but it does go up a lot so if you've never walked up a hill before, this is probably a bit much to tackle! The views are terrific, but check the weather forecast for cloud cover and wind speed . You can make it a circular walk by returning most of the way down the Snowdon Ranger Path before linking back to Rhyd Ddu.

Moel Hebog

7.5 km

11 km

730 m

960 m

Starts at Beddgelert, approx 7 miles from the campsite

Steep walk up a clear path for most of way, but does have a scrambly section. Steep down section to Beddgelert Forest to return to start.

Option to extend the walk by adding a further two peaks.

Cwm Penant

8 km 250m Starts at Beddgelert Forest, approx 5 miles from the campsite Easy walking in Beddgelert Forest, with amazing views over to Snowdon, Nantlle Ridge, Moel Eilio & Moel Hebog, and not forgetting Cwm Pennant and the coast!. A couple of small boggy sections, a rougher path on the return loop and some map reading skills needed too.

Glyders

Definately not a Marion walk. Map reading required, this is a link to a photo album Ian made after he had done the walk.

Lake Padarn

8km

This is an interesting walk that goes around Lake Padarn. It starts out on a quiet road then goes through woodland and finishes along the side of the lake. It is worth stopping half way round the walk to visit the Slate Museum
